2023 KTM Models – Are they any good?
The 2023 KTM models are still one year away from being launched, but many rumors and expectations
are already being widespread around the web. While we still don’t know that much from the new
models except for the leaked information, we do know that we’ll see the new 2023 KTM Duke 125 and
Duke 200 in late 2023.
While we don’t know too much about the Duke 200, we do know one thing or two about the KTM Duke
125. Hence, we can already have expectations regarding the new models based on the information we
have at hand.
KTM Duke 125 MY2023 – Updates & Changes
Many details about the Duke 125 MY2023 have been revealed, including the design, engines, and a few
other changes compared to the older models. Here we have some of the most noticeable changes.
Engine
The engine’s mounting points have been altered. In addition, the engine casings have been changed,
too, if you compare them to the current Duke 125. Additionally, the engine has had a major update.
According to the leaks, it has more power and torque and improved fuel efficiency.
Design
The design has noticeably changed. You will see that it borrows some of the elements found in the twin-
cylinder range of Duke. Plus, a larger fuel tank and sharper-looking tank extensions were included in the
new model as well. Some sources compare this design to the new KTM RC390.
Additionally, the double LED headlamp is one of the most noticeable changes. However, it isn’t strange
for the current generation of single-cylinder Dukes to include LED lights.
The rear end of the new Duke 125 also appears to have a lattice-type structure and a bracing arm. Plus,
the offset monoshock may substitute the centrally-mounted units that are included in the current
generation of bikes.
New components
It has also been revealed that a few new components have been included in the new KTM Duke 125,
such as a new bodywork and chassis. Furthermore, a few changes have been implemented in the trellis
frame, which you can notice pretty easily thanks to the high number of crossbeams. Thanks to the
inclusion of these features, the new Duke is expected to have a more robust and stiffer architecture.
Last but not least, the sub-frame seems to be longer than the one found in the current Duke version.
The Bottom Line
While we don't know if all these changes will make it to the final cut, it's for sure that KTM is looking
forward to improving the errors and deficiencies found in previous models. It's possible for the new
range of KTM Dukes to be launched in Nov 2022 during the EICMA. These motorbikes are expected to be
released in India a few months after the initial launch, around February 2023.
Another model has been announced, the KTM 2023 200 Duke. Details about this version haven’t been
revealed yet, but we’ll be sure to update you as soon as something new comes up.
